The 4th International Ankle Symposium

We are delighted to announce the 4th International Ankle Symposium and to issue our first call for submission of abstracts for this conference.

This conference will take place on the main campus of The University of Sydney, which is situated near the centre of Sydney and within easy access of many hotels and tourist attractions. Building on the success of previous symposia in Ulm (2000), Delaware (2004) and Dublin (2006), this conference will bring together researchers and clincians from many disciplines whose area of interest is the ankle.

The theme of the 4th International Ankle Symposium is New Dimensions on Old Problems.
The 2009 meeting will examine ankle instability and other related ankle pathologies from a multidisciplinary perspective.

Within the Symposium, there will be specific themes of:
New Dimensions on Science, New Dimensions on Interventions and New Dimensions in the Clinic.
Clinical practice will be the emphasis of the final two days, with a range of workshops on offer in addition to the invited speakers. Attendees will include clinicians and scholars from the disciplines of physiotherapy, orthopaedics, podiatry, athletic training, sports science and biomechanics, to name a few. The symposium will include a range of invited lectures, platform presentations of new research, clinical assessment and treatment techniques workshops, and poster sessions. We anticipate that this conference will be beneficial and informative for clinicians and scholars from many disciplines, including orthopaedics , physiotherapy, podiatry, biomechanics ,emergency medicine, sports medicine, athletic training, gait analysis, and kinesiotherapy.
