Re: EMPLOYMENT AND SPONSORSHIP IN AUSTRALIA
Hi Jackie,
I have just noticed your message. You didn't appear to receive much of a response from Austalian podiatrists - a bit sad, I'm sure you'll agree.
I am in no position at this stage to employ another podiatrist, but please respond should you need further advice/suggestions in looking for work & making contacts.
I qualified in South Africa, and after spending 12 years working there as a podiatrist, migrated to Australia (Melbourne) in 2001. I completed a B.Sc (Hons) through Brigton University in UK (my country of birth, Lincolnshire) before the final trip to Australia.
I have also spent time working in the UK
I understand what it is like to make a move half way across the world, to a strange country with a family.
Do a GOOGLE search for Australian Podiatry Association of Victoria (assuming that Victoria is a possible place of choice) Have a look at the employment list. Unfortunately there are the odd few positions that should be avoided. (speaking from my own bad expereince..). Let me know if you are still looking, and I would gladly communicate on the e-mail you have provided. There are usually plenty of positions available.
You may want to try the other different states across Australia & select your destination carefully. ( I am talking about your weather of choice or what is most suited). Many states have extremely hot weather, with Victoria one of the coolest
(Tasmania is coldest).
On the other hand, as you have not had many replies to date, One can assume:
1) That you have remained in UK
2) Already live in Australain & have work
3) Chose a different country to migrate to
Regards & best of luck should I not hear from you
I currently work at a chronic wound clinic and have recently commenced full time private practice, after several years of at a Community Health Centre
