Professor of Biomechanics and Podiatry at Plymouth University
Application closing date 12/07/2012
Full time permanent post

The School of Health Professions reflects the Faculty's wide interdisciplinary ethos, and affords the opportunity to work with colleagues from seven health-disciplines. Collaboration with academic and practitioner colleagues in the Faculty's Institute of Health and Community, and the wider University, including the Faculty of Science and Technology and Plymouth University's Peninsula School of Medicine and Dentistry, is expected within the research and teaching profile of all disciplines.
The primary purpose of the role is to lead and develop world class research in the broad area of Biomechanics linked to Podiatry. The position will maximise the opportunities of the multidisciplinary environment afforded by the School and foster collaborations with other disciplines and research groups, including movement and function and optometry. This position is responsible for leading the academic development and quality of the Podiatry programmes at all levels.
We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated professional with the relevant blend of experience and qualifications. These include:
- Proven research track record, recognised and valued at international level
- Strong leadership skills
- An interest in the professional and academic challenges relevant to Podiatry and an appetite for the mentoring and development of early career researchers
- Relevant academic qualifications and higher education teaching experience

For more information on this exciting and unique opportunity, please contact Professor Graham Sewell, Head of School of Health Professions and Associate Dean Research, at gjsewell@plymouth.ac.uk or telephone 01752 588817. Alternatively further details can be seen at https://hrservices.plymouth.ac.uk/tl... fTZ&LANG=USA
