Default Roaccutane and Ingrown Toenails

Roaccutane is a common treatment for acne. One of its side effects is granulation tissue. Combine teenagers, nail picking and roaccutane and you have a georgeous example of an ingrown toenail. To treat or not to treat?

Default Re: Roaccutane and Ingrown Toenails

To a teenager, acne is the ONLY problem. Roaccutane is only taken for 16 weeks, then needs a few weeks for the side effects to resolve. Roaccutane has a often unmentioned side effect of stopping the epiphysal growth plates. So pallative until the course is finished? (I am seriously into dermatology, and if you have any patients with dishydrosis, please send them to me.) Carole, student at Newcastle.
