Are any clinicians able to purchase either liquified Phenol BP 89% or the phenol EZ swabs? The usual supplier has told me that they are unable to supply at the moment.

    Thanks in advance, Poll

    Hi Polly,

I haven't bought Phenol for a while but it's in my new catalogue.

Not quite as you specify though?

    Phenol Liquified (80%). 20ml. dropper PHE100 £4.15!
(Not 89% I'm afraid? Does it matter?).

    Chiropody Express. Tel: 01484 717999.

    Regards,

    Colin.

PS. You are UK. Polly, never occurred for me to ask?

The problem I think is one of CE marking.

They aren't CE marked which prohibits their use in the NHS but the problem has only recently come to light. This is why if you look they dont actually come with a COSSH data sheet or expiration date or any of the usual safety stuff.

I believe they are trying to deal with this but its not something tha happens over night
