It seems that for some obscure reason, betadine ointment is no longer available from suppliers and pharmacy alike.

Could anyone advise on a good alternative?

    Thanks Mandy

I use inadine a lot but there are times when I prefer the ointment. Trained with it all those years ago , and you tend to stick with what works. I found the spray a bit messy to be honest.

On a similar thread - is anyone able to get hold of either monochlor- or trichlor-acetic acid? A few suppliers still have it in their catalogue but none have it in stock. Currently also unable to access it through our NHS pharmacology supplies department (who are still however getting betadine ointment for us). Have tried a few companies that I've tracked down on-line, but either they won't supply the NHS or they'll only provide in amounts vast enough to be considered chemical warfare!!
    Cheers
    Rie
