He had very impressive stage records. His worse stages were 11 and 21 when he came in 50th and 56th. At no time was he was he lower than 4th place overall. No other rider came close to him. He lead by example. He complemented his team members on their effort to get him home all the way.
If you look at the Sprint and King of the Mountain title Cadel was also highly ranked throughout the entire race.
His win puts him with the best Australian sportsperson of all time. Each sport has their hero's and cycling has Cadel Evans

About time I say, he's been trying for a while now. I was so chuffed when he won the world champs and I even shed a tear knowing he'd won the tour.....
