    Is there anybody out there

    Hi Guys,
I am looking for some help.
I have been trying to find good studies concerning the effect of depression/stress on wound healing. I have been able to pick up several abstracts but not full text.
Is there anybody out there who can help me?
    Much appreciated. Kath

In my opinion, only speaking empiracally extreme depression can have a deleterious effect on wound healing
1.Possibly,the meds taken for depression can depress the immune system
2.Depressed,apathetic people do not exercise adequate self care, and that can contribute as well(poor compliance with treatment protocol, poor nutritional status, lack of proper follow-up visits, etc)

Thanks John for your input. I have managed to get a couple of studies but the big ones are published on the Pubmed data base and I can only get abstracts from Pubmed as my uni does not subscribe. I shall keep digging. Thanks very much for your time. Kath

Thanks Admin 2. I have been on the Google sites, I think I need to broaden what I am looking at. The study by Alys Cole-King (Psycological Factors)is excellent, I picked that up some time ago, that is the type of thing I have been continuing searches for.
Thanks once agin fopr you help. Kath
