Interestingly, had a conversation with my neighbours on this subject 20 years ago. All the men decided that they would organise things on a co-operative basis so that all would clean one house each day of the week, one would take all the kids to brownies, cubs etc., we would take it in turns to go to the park etc. and would draw up a database of birthdays, wedding anniversaries etc. for cards, and kids height, weight etc.etc. Laundry would be done on a mass basis and cooking would be done by barbie.

To cut a long story short, we calculated, carefully, that we would each have 50% more time than we do now. This extra time would be invested in the pub, thus boosting the local economy. Doubtless it would also fill the requirement for abdominal discomfort and mood swings!

    Cheers
