    hi
prior to x-ray / mri what was the presentation similar to PF or bursa due to spur.
only reason I ask is had a patient in the clinic last week following a ref from gp "heel pain".
past history showed no trauma but she had been walking more in the 3 months prior to the swelling.

my plan was to order lat and med weight bearing x-ray and U/S of soft tissue.
I added a slimfex green with poron val filler to support the foot in the acute phase with gp Px for NSAID'S
my main thinking is bursa and heel spur but to be honest had not considered stress fracture.
will check the x-ray and see what the radiologist reports.

seen a number of metatarsal stress fractures in runners (distance) my msk is shi-e but usualy due to structures been fatigued.

seen some odd fractures in osteoporosis and sad outcomes in diabetic foot fractures leading to charcot and O/M

found the radiology department helpful and they have loads of refs/books

    food for thought
    thanks tony
