The Venowave has been used by Dr. Perry Myers of the Meyers Institute in Hamilton Ontario, Canada for treating diabetic ulcers. He thinks it is the only device which is currently availbe to increase circulation to and from the wound sites. As a result he has found that such wounds heal and at a faster rate. New open trials are being planned because the nature of the device makes it difficult to perform double blind studies since it is a mechanical device with moving parts If one were to apply the device without having it working it would reduce the circulation biasing the result in the opposite direction.

We have given some units to Podiatrists on request but none have even tried them It is almost as if the device is too godd to be true and if it works it will reduce my income. Even local doctors who specialize in diabetic wound care are so far reluctant to use the device.

It has been said over and over that the main problem with non healing diabetic ulcers is poor circulation and lack of oxygen which results. HBOT treatments have been tried but the results improve oxgen delivery but nothing else and it is the else that is also needed for a wound to heal. It is like the old saying you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. We have the device but we can't make anyone use it even though it is FDA, CE and Health Canada approved as a class II medical device.
