Best Walking Cities - Good PR tool?

    Hi all,

I'm the PR Officer for the Australian Podiatry Association (Vic) (I'm also a podiatrist) and the topic of Walking is currently being thrown around as a potential area for promotion for podiatry in Australia.

I've seen on this site and also on others (news and APMA etc) about the USA Best Walking Cities promotion and it appears to be getting a lot of coverage.

However, I guess I'm looking for some feedback from practitioners in the US about how successful you feel it has been and if you think it has had benefits for the profession over there.

I would certainly appreciate any comments, because from my perspective this seems to be a really well thought out and effective campaign. I would hope that we would be able to do a similar type campaign here in Australia.

    Regards,

    Katrina Richards :)
