    ABOUT DIABETIC LIMB SALVAGE
    Highly regarded as one of the worlds finest limb salvage events Diabetic Limb Salvage (DLS) brings together the worlds most eminent lower limb specialists for an unforgettable meeting. Held in Washington D.C. in the fall of every year, DLS features live lectures, live hospital tours and live real-time surgical events where the world can interact with the operating theater!

    PORTAL Education is proud to present DLS 2011 as a Live, Online, and Interactive event. Registration fee includes full conference registration to all three days of the event. You may log in and view/interact at anytime. Please note PORTAL Education only broadcasts the MAIN AUDITORIUM events (including LIVE SURGERY) live and on demand. For DLS 2011 we will attempt to make available the Vascular Symposium as an on demand event after the conference is complete. Workshops and other non-CME events not in the main auditorium may not be broadcast.

    This course will enhance the background, knowledge and skills of attendees in the science of diabetic limb salvage. At the conclusion of this CME activity, participants should be able to:
    ▲ discuss the public health crisis of diabetic limb loss
    ▲ discuss the pain of sensory loss and non-compliance
    ▲ discuss the options in vascular interventional technology and techniques, both surgical and endovascular
    ▲ discuss the complexities of biomechanics, limb salvage, the problem wound, wound based infection, preserving limb length
    ▲ cite the financial and social impact of diabetic limb salvage and amputation
    ▲ integrate into their practices the knowledge obtained through the didactic lectures, workshops and live surgical cases.

    ACCREDITATION

    Continuing Education Points Accredited for US and Australian Podiatrists as well as selected medical personnel. The Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS) has approved this conference for CPD. Fellows who participate can claim one point per hour (maximum 17 points) in Category 4: Maintenance of Clinical Knowledge and Skills towards 2011 CPD totals.
