    Hi,

Can anyone recommend best short term taping techniques for patients with Dorsal Midfoot Interosseous compression syndrome. Is standard Low Dye enough or is this better modified for this condition. Personally always use KT type tape as only tapes I find comfortable on the feet. WOuld appreciate your experience on best taping methods for this condition.

    Thanks
    Issy

Low Dye taping if done properly is probably the most effective short term treatment for DMICS (problem is most I see do not do it properly ... ie the forefoot needs to be plantarflexed)

KT type taping is absolutely useless for DMICS

    Craig,

Do you have a VT of your version of LOw Dye Taping as there are so many individual takes on this taping technique?

No video, but its simple .... it does not matter which strapping variation you use, you just need to make sure it plantarflexes the forefoot.

The cause of DMICS is when the forefoot dorsiflexion moments are greater than the plantarflexion moments. All you have to do to treat it is increase the plantarflexion moment/decrease the dorsiflexion moments - ie make sure the tape plantarflexes the forefoot.
