    surgery assistant

Does anybody have any info on what level of training a person needs to assist a pod in nail surgery? does a pod legally have to have an assistant during nail surgery? can in house training be undertaken?

    I'm in the UK

    Thanks,

Don't know about the UK, but in Australia there are no requirements.

There are no legal or specific requirements.

Within the National Health Services there are a number of training systems for Foot Care Assistants, largely defined by each local Health Trust and it is usually this level of staff who assist at PNAs etc.

If fortunate, some Pods will have the benefit of a qualified nurse or colleague, others will be assisted by a Health Care Assistant.

What is the legal situation in the USA for office based surgery or in Canada, S.A., Spain and other countries?

    All the best

    Bill
