Hi,
I'm a podiatrist working in australia and also have fibromyalgia.
when getting orthotics make sure you get them out of a LOW DENSITY 250 or less EVA. Its much better on your feet then polypropelene or carbon fibre. and a slow release poron top cover really helps...
Have you ever consulted a naturopath about the fibro?
I have seen a naturopath for years and where specialists couldn't help at all I found her homeopathic and chinese remedies FANTASTIC.
Especially a brand called METAGENICS does a homeopathic remedy called "FIBROPLEX PLUS". tHIS has been my life saver!
You are best to consult w a naturopath first though as a lot of decreases in certain mineral and vit levels can exacerbate the problem. Esp magnesium... and that could be highly involved with the cramping.
Hope this is helpful...
Low impact exercise is better as well then high impact. doing tai chi 3 + times a week can help amazingly in managing fibro.
