Urea in the treatment of VP?? Where is the evidence?

Does anyone know of any research articles providing any evidence whatsoever that urea can be used in the treatment of verrucae?

I have found this link http://www.aafp.org/afp/20051215/lettersonline.html which mentions urea at 40% being used under occlusion with duct tape. I realise that duct tape has been investigated as a possible treatment for VP with varying levels of success, but I am unaware of any published data that supports the use of urea in the treatment of VP.

Presumably urea at 40% would have a similar keratolytic action to salicylic acid or lactic acid. Has anyone had any experience (positive or negative) with the use of urea in the treatment of VP?

    Cheers

    GH
