What on Earth are our toes actually for?

    The above assumes that toes are actually the best at what we use them for. They even out pressure under the forefoot after heel lift in gait. I'm not sure toes are the best design for that.

    I was once sitting in a restaurant and looked over at the next table and there was a women who kicked off her shoes put her foot in her purse and pulled out an alcohol wipe with her toes. She "washed" her feet and then proceeded to pick up a fork with her toes and eat. She had no arms. That is what toes are for.
