    Hi all,

I, amongst the rest of the profession (I assume), recently received correspondence from Medibank Private letting me know of their proposal to stop making payments for goods and services supplied by podiatrists identified as operating outside of Medibank's Requirements for Recognised Providers.

In a nutshell, this relates quite specifically to settings, where (in the opinion of Medibank) the podiatrist is practicing in a predominantly retail environment.

This will take effect August 1st.

I know a reasonable number of practices in my area that could possibly be construed as having a rather heavy 'retail' focus.

Has anyone had experience with Medibank advising them payments may no longer apply to their services? This seems like a major change that will affect many practitioners.

I too received the letter today. I am OK though as not engaging in a retail environment. Has anyone actually been barred?
