Just wondering if anyone has seen a coalition of this sought before.
I haven't, but had a 12 y.o boy in today with what feels a lot like a coalition, have sent for x-rays.
It is a possibility for any joint of the foot, just wondering if others have seen this one?

Not seen thsi before but something similar. I've got a family that have 3rd met/cuneiform fusion. They have a very rare genetic mutation of GDF5 (growth determining factor 5), this family present with very short 1st met. Very little is known about it. They get other stuff too, like hearing loss, fusion of bones of the hand and early hip OA.

When you get your XR back, let us know how it looks. Just from what I know from the case above, I would want to rule out genetic issues.

What are their symtpoms and what are you trying to acheive with them?

    Good luck,
    Sally

I've seen a partial synostosis involving the upper one half of the 1st metatarsal-cuneiform joint in an adult.
