Wiivv Recruits Silicon Valley Tech Executive as Vice President; Will Lead Growing Marketing and Partnerships Team Out of Vancouver, B.C.
    February 07, 2018 06:00
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Vancouver-based consumer technology company Wiivv today announced that Aron Tremble has been appointed as Vice President of Marketing and Partnerships and has relocated, with his family, to Vancouver, B.C. This is one of many American recruits that Vancouver’s tech scene has attracted this year, signaling a larger trend for one of B.C.’s most valued emerging industries.

Wiivv, the company that makes customized footwear and apparel, concludes its search for an executive with deep roots in software technology, industry growth, and partnership development. In Silicon Valley, Tremble held the role of Senior Director of Software Experience and Products at tech giant HP Inc. where he focused on customer experiences, marketing and partnerships with industry leaders such as Google, Alibaba and Microsoft.

"Wiivv is a truly unique company, using software to change customer experiences from mass manufacturing to custom made products. We empower people on their feet and all it takes is a smart phone," says Tremble. "I'm thrilled to be working with the team to grow awareness and create opportunities to scale the business."

Shamil Hargovan, CEO at Wiivv, said, “Our 2018 focus is on launching new products, partnering with remarkable brands, and increasing our customer base. Aron’s wealth of experience and knowledge of the consumer tech industry, as well as his passion for amplifying brands, developing award-winning teams, and building strategic relationships make him a timely addition to the Wiivv team.” Regarding Vancouver’s tech industry, Hargovan outlined, “This important hire symbolizes Wiivv’s enduring commitment to bringing the very best talent to our team. The Vancouver tech ecosystem just gained a huge asset; Aron is a natural coach and collaborator.”

While Vancouver is home to many prospering startup companies, the city’s tech sector has been overshadowed by its American neighbours down the coast, with Silicon Valley holding top spot for world-class tech companies. According to Tremble, however, there is enormous opportunity for Vancouver tech companies to corner a smaller market where fewer companies like theirs exist.
