Hi. My name is Jo and I have just joined the Forum. I did my training @ SMAE and registered with the HPC in September 2004. As from June 2005 I am now living in Malta and will apply for a work permit soon, after various bits of documentation have been duplicated - some got lost in shipment!
My name is Lucinda and i have been a member for a few months. I have just started my degree in podiatry, but have not been able to doso until now unfortunately. I live in the West Midlands. Did you always intend to move to Malta to work?
It must be exciting embarking on your degree course. Where are you doing it? I did a diploma course with SMAE and am thinking of doing the Top Up Degree course with the APU. I'm not sure how that will work with me in Malta but I have until next September to find out.
I had only been qualified 2 1/2 years when my husband was offered a job in Malta. I am now applying for the work permit to see if I can work here. I have had a pile of paperwork to submit and have just about got it all together now - its a bit like applying for registration with the HPC all over again! I would be very interested to hear how you progress with the degree.
It is very exciting but a bit scary too. I am studying at Matthew Boulton College in Birmingham as it is the closet to where i live. They have just recently had a new building built which has fantastic facilities. Where did you study for your diploma?
Good luck with the paper work sounds fun!! I will keep you updated on how it is going.
