Dear Cameron,
Thanks for the mentioning of it here. I've been involved in boomerangs for quite a few years now (27 plus), and have a great overview of the sport, science, and art of boomerangs.
I was fortunate to have been chosen to help open the "Australia Exhibit" at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland. I tossed a couple of short range indoor boomerangs during the ceremony (in front of a governor, a large city mayor, and an ambassador from Australia), and then contacted the two local newspapers about the event. Both were planning stories on it; this is the first one to come out. I had no idea they were going to make it more than half the front page! It's almost impossible to get that kind of publicity around here.
Every time I got some sort of write-up in the paper, I get a brief influx of more new patients than usual. I'm not quite sure how my expertise in boomerangs qualifies me as a podiatrist, but maybe it's just getting your name in front of lots of people. If you win some sort of award, in any field of interest or hobby, I suggest contacting the local newspapers, as they may find it of enough interest to write about it.
Best wishes,
Fredric A. Malmberg
