I'm aware that NZ podiatrist are regulated by scopes of practice but am just wondering after seeing all these wonderful treatments (e.g. maggots for wounds, ESWT) or any newly developed equipments disscussed here (or read online), are we allow to incorporate them into practice without gaining certain qualifications or approval for the use of various treatment/equipment?
While I am somewhat out of touch with current situation in NZ, it mostly depends on what other pieces of legislation that the modality may be regulated under (eg ultrasound is regulated by some legislation; I do not know about EWST). Angela Bailey in Wellington has used maggotts...
