Dr David Armstrong has been named as one of five 'Fathers of the Year' by the Chicago Father's Day Council and the American Diabetes Association
Quote:
I am honored to share with you that the Chicago Father's Day Council
and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) has selected me as one of
the recipients of the 2006 Father of the Year Awards winners. Five other
outstanding fathers and I will be honored on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at
an awards dinner held at Galleria Marchetti at 825 W. Erie in downtown
Chicago. Being a father is the most important aspect of my life, which
makes this an honor I am extremely proud to receive.
The Chicago Father's Day Council is a group of leading members of our
community partnered with the ADA to bring funding and awareness to
the fight against diabetes. The gentlemen that were selected to be
"Father of the Year" have proven they can balance a high level of success
in their chosen careers while enriching the lives of their families. In a day
when the institutions of fatherhood and family often face enormous
challenges, it's quite gratifying that I am being recognized for having my
career and family life in a healthy balance.
The proceeds from the dinner will benefit the ADA, a non-profit
organization dedicated to preventing and curing diabetes and
improving the lives of all people affected by diabetes. This event will
serve to recognize my commitment to worthy causes such as this and
how important it is for our community to give back.
I am asking for your help to make this tribute a most memorable one for
me and my family by attending the dinner and/or including a special
message in the event's Tribute Journal. Formal invitations will be mailed
within the next few weeks. In the meantime, enclosed is an opportunity
to get your reservation in now or make a donation of any amount if you
are unable to attend. Please take a moment to complete this form and
return it in the enclosed envelope as soon as possible. Your support will
mean a great deal to me and most importantly, those living with
diabetes.
Thank you for your support and I look forward to your participation in
making this event a very special evening for all involved.
Sincerely,
David G. Armstrong, DPM, PhD
