A lot of Australian newspapers are carrying this story: Lee bowls maiden right over
Quote:
TEARAWAY bowler Brett Lee is engaged to be married after a secret wedding proposal in South Africa.
Lee, 29, popped the question to Sydney podiatrist Liz Kemp before his heroics with the ball in the second Test which ended in Durban yesterday.
Only the happy couple's family, close friends and Lee's teammates were told of the engagement, which was kept secret for nearly a week.
The blond duo have been inseparable on tour and returned to the team's beachfront hotel hand-in-hand after a pre-breakfast dip before the Test's final day.
Interpretation for readers from non-cricket playing countries:
Cricket = better than baseball (at least the world actually competes in the 'world series' )
Brent Lee = very famous
Bowler = "throws " the ball at the batsman
Test = game between two countries (in this case Australia and South Africa)
Maiden over = when a series of balls have been bowled and no runs are scored ( term also used in a romantic sense when cricketers are involved :) )

A week after she officially became Mrs Brett Lee, family sources have revealed that Liz Kemp is pregnant with the couple's first child.
For some weeks, there has been a whisper concerning the normally slender Kemp's broadening waistline.
Then from the wedding reception on Saturday came confirmation that Kemp is now in the second trimester of her pregnancy and is openly talking with family and friends about impending motherhood.
Kemp and the Australian fast bowler are believed to have started planning their family late last year. In December, the former Double Bay podiatrist informed colleagues at the podiatry clinic that she was quitting her job to get married and have babies. In March, following a whirlwind one-year relationship, the couple announced their engagement during a South African cricket tour.....
FAST bowler Brett Lee will miss Australia's tour of Bangladesh after splitting up with his wife of two years.
Lee, 31, and podiatrist Liz Kemp, 31, have a son, Preston, 20 months.
Australia's top fast bowler pulled out of this week's Australian team training camp in Brisbane and the three-match one-day series against Bangladesh in Darwin this month, citing personal reasons.
Nothing like a bit of celebrity gossip. The Sydney Morning Herald are reporting: Lee bowled over by wife walking out
Quote:
CRICKETER Brett Lee was shocked and bewildered when his wife suddenly walked out on their marriage, friends have revealed.
The champion fast bowler is struggling to understand why Liz Kemp - mother of their 21-month-old son Preston - would have ended what he believed was a happy marriage.
Lee's friends, however, have discounted the friendship between Ms Kemp, a former Double Bay podiatrist, and a high-profile rugby player as the cause of the split. The pair have been seen together at nightclubs and at lunch in recent weeks while Lee has been busy with promotions and other events.
The rugby player yesterday denied his relationship with Ms Kemp was the cause of the marriage break-up and said the pair were old friends.
