As long as you don't put parmasan cheese on spaggetti marinara you can do anything over there.
BTW, get ready for a shock. The bread over there is not yellow and saturated with sugar, like it is in the good old US of A; where bread means cake.

As an American DPM your qualifications don't allow you surgical rights in this country. One of your colleagues in Rome had to do a 1 year post grad course to be accepted as a foot surgeon. Her name is Dr. Tara Giorgini DPM and works in ROME. I am a South African / British qualified podiatrist and am able to practice as a Podiatrist with no problem. I also work in the diabetic foot clinic at the hospital and perform forefoot amputations, surgical debridement, advanced wound management with no legal problems. Private surgical procedures are limited to P&As and Neuroma surgery, no bone surgery as yet. The bureaucracy is unreal over here, but once you have STEPPED over that hurdle there is plenty of work over here. I can STRONGLY recommend that you are fluent in Italian as very few Italians understand English. If you need more information please contact me privately at mmazzonc@tin.it
