Default Hello

Hi everyone,

Just thought id say hello and introduce myself. I am 20 yo uni student currently about to start the new Bachelor of Health Sciences and Masters of Podiatry practice at Latrobe University this year. I have already completed the first year of a straight Health Science degree at Latrobe Bundoora in 2008 and transferred to the new course this year.

I received a lot of credits for units i completed in 2008 so now i only have about 2 units to study for the whole year. and because its the first year of the new course structure i cant pick up any 2nd year subjects which makes me a part time student Its really annoying because this will affect all my Youth Allowance and scholarships big time which i really need.

I am thinking about picking some electives to make myself full time but that's just going to add more money to my HECS debt .

Would anyone have any ideas about what sort of area i should do some electives that would help an aspiring Podiatrist????? I was thinking along the lines of business or management??????

I would also like to look for something along the lines of Podiatry assistant or something so i don't waste a year not doing much lol

I am also a 2009 Health Science Mentor at Menzies College (One of the Halls of Residence at Latrobe). Basically i help a group of about 15 - 20 first years who live at Menzies with there course work, uni life, moving away from home, getting speakers in to talk to them about careers in there chosen course etc. Im really looking forward to getting some real world information about the Podiatry profession etc on this site

Thanks for reading look forward to hearing from you guys

If you do not receive any replies to your question in the introduction forum I suggest you repost your Q. in the Australia forum. Although I understand all Australians are a helpful bunch so I reckon someone will reply soon.

All the best,

Mandy.
