Even if you can't think of the best how about the ones that easily come to mind.
How about "Catch 22" for novel and "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "Das Boot" as my favourites, mark

Educating Rita (film) & James Herbert's, The Rats (had to read it in one sitting). Just couldn't put it down. It was the 1st book I read without any pictures in. I was 9.

Ah Simon Mr. John Irving. My favorite was also by him, The Cider House Rules.

Favorite flick may well be Heat. Pacino and DeNiro in one flick.

Hi
Sound of Music; kids favorite, on video, always. Book, James Mitchner; The Drifters; I knew most of the main characters. Spike Milligan; Hitler, my part in his downfall resonates.

"The Magus" by John Fowles - the novel, and the film with Michael Caine, Candice Bergman and Anthony Quinn.

Started reading the novel early one stormy night in Darwin and couldn't put it down until I had finished it just as dawn was breaking!
