It's not that lucrative here in the USA either!!!!!! haha
My take on this is easy. You have pretty much ONE chance to do a residency program. Once you are in Private practice, except for a possible fellowship and various workshops, your basic training is over. You may never get another opportunity to learn rear foot surgery.
I would do the third year and be grateful for the education and training you will receive. Trust me when I say that the year will go by quickly and you will not regret it.
More knowledge and training is never a bad thing.
