Computer automated bots are always trying to register on forums and post spam messages (we get over several 100 attempts a day).
One strategy used to battle this is a program we have installed that denies registration to anyone (or anything) that completes the registration process in less than a certain amount of time. We have set that threshold at an amount of time that humans should not be able to complete it under.
If you get denied during registration, take it as a complement and try again by typing slower.
