I'm getting an overwhelming feeling of déjà vu here.... http://www.podiatry-arena.com/podiat...=2001#post2001

Thanks Al, but we just love the (relatively) advertising-lite media that is Podiatry Arena. Maybe you could ask Ed and Brian instead?

Default The Foot Blog

Mark,

What makes this a little different than a forum, is that it allows everyone to post articles that are important to them and also provides valuable information about podiatry, etc.

I don't think these guys mind, I've always link swapped with this site. It's all good! . . .

Just thought I would let everyone know the calibre of a person that this Al Kline is.

Forum Rules are clear - "do not start multiple threads on the same topic" (which are pretty standard rules on almost all forums). So when he changes the home page of the blog he starts a new thread here to announce it. I deleted the thread as it was of no use to Podiatry Arena visitors and he could have easily posted here in this thread about something new to do with the blogg - there are no problems with doing that. I then sent a PM to him informing him what was done:
Quote:
Your self promotional post has been deleted. Please see the forum rules, especially the one about multiple threads on the same topic. You have already posted one thread promoting your blog. Please do not start any more.
to which I received this reply:
Quote:
Your an ass and I won't be back to this forum.

Your link on my site has been deleted.
I guess that says it all.
Abuse of the Private Message system is not tolerated here, so he is banned.

Your link on my site has been deleted - and I have done likewise and removed the link to your site in the first post. I would have been happy to leave it there for Podiatry Arena visitors, but you made a choice to break the rules that you agreed to when you joined here and resort to name calling via a PM

Good riddance to him. He already made a fool of himself in this thread
http://www.podiatry-arena.com/podiat...read.php?t=435
and has never contributed anything actually useful I can see here, so he won't be missed.

Craig and My International Podiatric Colleagues:

Unfortunately, Al Kline's attitude toward "non-doctor podiatrists" is fairly commonplace here in the US among podiatrists. In fact, many of the more surgically oriented podiatrists here don't think much of those of us who are conservatively oriented, even though they are often the ones who make crappy foot orthoses so they can do more foot surgery because "foot orthoses failed".

I have received two unsolicited e-mails from Al in the past week asking me to contribute to his "Foot Blog". I'm now glad that DaVinci pointed out his comments on Podiatry Arena so I can know a little about this man I have never met and keeps sending me e-mails. Al, I won't be spending any time helping you out with your website, simply because your comments to Podiatry Arena are embarrassing to me as an American podiatrist. By the way, Al, since you are probably reading this, some of the brightest minds in podiatry on this little planet of ours are not DPMs from the USA but are rather podiatrists from other countries that have gone on to do advanced academic degrees and research.

My apologies to all my international podiatric colleagues for such demeaning statements from one podiatrist within this country of 300 million people.

Look what he just posted on his blogg:
Quote:
The admin staff at Pod Arena didn’t appreciate me letting everyone know about the foot blog. Their loss. I see this blog as an asset to the people who take the time to visit.
Absolute rubbish.

Your post about your original failed forum is still here. This thread in which you originally announced your blog was still here and has been for 3 weeks (I only removed the link in your first post when you had that dummy spit and removed the link to Podiatry Arena from your blog).

What we don't appreciate is you breaking the forum rules and starting new threads on the blogg and sending abusive private messages.

Starting multiple threads on the same topic just clutters up any forum with useless junk and is not helpful to visitors to that forum.

Default Foot Blog

After taking a look at Al Kline's foot blog I don't see what all the fuss is about. A potentially useful podiatry resource, and, on face value altruistically motivated, and devoid of any obvious financial interest.

Al apparently fell foul of this website's rules and 'fair cop' he has had his wrists slapped well and truly for his misdemeanour. I note from his previous posts, especially where he argued the point about ‘superior’ US Podiatry education (which it isn’t it’s just different) he is also quite outspoken in his views but also that he willingly accepts when he is wrong and apologises for it.

The rest seems like an overreaction though when other posters on this website are often on the receiving end of aggressively vitriolic riposte for a much lesser insult which often does not attract the attention of admin. All seems a little harsh to me and to know he is banned from this site ?

tit for tat et al ... just seems a little immature is all.
