Hi had a client in from UK asking if she can purchase verrca socks?? Must admit I had not heard of such! Does anyone know of any suppliers here in Aus. They are also used for windsurfers to hold on or not slip of boards?? thanks kind reagrds Heather
I think verrucae socks were made from latex and you can still get them. The last time I saw them David Wilkie was endorsing them (early 80s) . Wilkie was a Scot who came after Mark Stipz and won Commonwealth trophies throughout the 70s. Much later he was done for promoting drugs in sport and fell out of the lime light. It is reputed he had warts on his feet but refused to have them treated or take precautions to obviate crossinfection and the reason was he wnated to pass the virus onto the Russian competitors.
Meantime you may find Sandsocks are what the patient is after. They are pretty cool
