I have encountered many patients who worry about 'poor circulation' on the basis of cold feet. If the pulses are good and there are no other signs suggesting any kind of vascular compromise (diminished arterial flow, sluggish venous circulation, vasospastic compromise etc) then why worry?

Consider the effects of social drugs e.g. nicotine, caffeine and the function of the microcirculation in the control of body temperature, also the function of the numerous sweat glands, the skin cover (volume : content), the proximity of feet to the ground and the direct heat exchange etc etc. There are a plenty of variables to create this effect.

I have excellent circulation but often my feet will feel cold.

(It's only my opinion - if you don't like it don't read it)
