Hello,

I am from The Netherlands and would like to migrate to Australie. At the moment I work as, what is called in Dutch, a Pedicure. The direct translation to English would be Podiatrist.

Could someone please confirm if this is called a Podiatrist in Australia?

Some of my tasks are :

-making- and interpreting blueprints of feet
-diagnosing, analysing and making a plan of treatment
-different treatments of feet, nais ans skin, like:

-correcting abnormal positions of feet by making ortheses(lowered arches, high arches, flat feet)
-removing callus
-removing corns
-treat ingrowing toenails
-treating fungal nails
-advising appropriate footwear
-screening and treating Diabetics
-screening and treating Rheumatism patients
-nail surgery procedures

Thank you in advance.

BR,

Broadly your skillset is mostly what is termed a podiatrist in Australia.

I think the more important question you should be asking is "will my undergraduate qualification be recognised in Australia?"

As such, I would direct you enquiry to the Australasian Podiatry Council website found here.

They will advise on what steps are involved in undertaking assessment and examinations to be registered here.
