Default Electrosurgery instead of phenol

Does anyone have any experience of electrosurgery as an alternative to phenol after PNA's? I am currently writing up my undergraduate project on the results of my study and just wondered what other peoples experiences were of this technique, good or bad. Thanks

Done it a few times. Not completely unsuccessful but MUCH harder to do than Phenol with a much higher regrowth rate. Pain the fundamentals trying to get down the sides of the nails with PNA and constantly shorts when you do it on a bleeder (although i admit the kit i used dated from circa 1375)

I don't bother any more!

Regards
Robert

I did similar research as a student and the bottom line, as I recall it, was there is no call to re-invent the wheel.

Phenolisation works consistently well, does not require any expensive equipment and it conferred no specific advantages either, to the patient or clinician.

I have tried it a few times, the regrowth of nail was more than with phenol.
Overall I now prefer to use phenol.
