Clinical Biomechanics Boot Camp #3

November 19 & 20

The Department of Podiatry at La Trobe University is proud to present its Clinical Biomechanics Boot Camp #3, following on from the success of #1 & #2. The course focuses on the practical application in clinical practice of all the cutting edge research on foot orthoses. Previous feedback has been very positive, but we continue to improve each year. This year, along with Major Payne and General Norman, we are adding in Brigidaire Bruce Williams DPM who has a of practical experience in the use of in-shoe pressure measurement to prescribe foot orthoses for the complex patient. A number of hands-on practical sessions are planned with the drill sargents.

Instructors:
Major Payne (LaTrobe University, Australia)
Brigidaire Bruce Williams (Indiana, USA)
General Stormin Norman Murphy (Montreal, Canada)

Supported by:
Tekscan
Bodylogic

Feedback from 2004:
"Refreshing new diagnostic ideas"
"It was impressive"
"Outstanding"
"Enjoyed and found practical the evidence based info superb"
"New skills for use in everyday practice"
"Initiated a lot of lateral thinking"
"Information was directly related to orthotic prescribing in clinical practice"
"Increased my confidence as a practitioner"
"Practical, hands on take home applications that can be implemented immediately"
"Clinically relevant, grounded by evidence and coherent"
"The information presented was new and unique"

We will learn from the feedback to make 2005 even better - more concise presentations; more hands on; and less technical problems.

Topics:
Motion, position or forces?
Tests to predict foot orthoses outcomes?
Why and how orthoses do work?
Why and why orthoses fail?
Prescribing foot orthoses
The importance of the force time curve
Clinical biomechanical examination and orthoses prescription
Computerised biomechanical examination and orthoses prescription
Foot orthoses decision making
Practical sessions - computer analysis
Practical sessions - clinical assessment
and more....

Registration brochure will be printed shortly.

I have an idea. How about running the same course in the UK?

Do I get any royalties for this notion?
