Thanks for that.

An interesting read, he's calling for more than just "more Maori podiatrists"

It challenges one to consider that while cultural awareness may be comprehensively addressed in the HCPA how do we implement it in our workplace?

Cheers
Greg

Default from the gp workforce report 2004

While increased Maori representation in the podatry workforce is called for to, presumably, improve appropriate service access and health outcomes.

The ongoing changes within the GP workforce cause one to wonder what the implications are, on access and health outcomes, for other ethnic groups of NZ's population.

"About 41 per cent of doctors at New Zealand hospitals are trained overseas - the highest ratio in the OECD - up from 35 per cent in 2000. "

"overseas-trained doctors (OTDs) made up 34% of the total medical workforce in 2001, up from 29% in 1990":

Regards
Greg
