Default Terminology of Biomechanics

Hi.
Does anyone know of a simple text/website that explains the meaning of some of the terms that are sometimes used to describe movements.
It's a long time since I did physics at school and I assume it is where they come from. Cheers.

Hi Bullpod,

Have a look at this thread from a while back...

http://www.podiatry-arena.com/podiatry-forum/showthread.php?t=2118&highlight=podiatry+terminolo gy

There's a fair few new-ish words there that you can look up, and a lot of it is described in Kevin Kirby's books:

Kirby KA: Foot and Lower Extremity Biomechanics: A Ten Year Collection of Precision Intricast Newsletters. Precision Intricast, Inc., Payson, Arizona, 1997.

Kirby KA: Foot and Lower Extremity Biomechanics II: Precision Intricast Newsletters, 1997-2002. Precision Intricast, Inc., Payson, AZ, 2002.

Or search around Podiatry Arena and you'll find a lot's of these terms explained...

Regards

Donna :)

No worries, Gary...

Something you might also find very useful is the Thought Experiments #1 - 7 which Kevin Kirby designed last year to help us think like an engineer... have a look...
