Default Tattoos question

Podiatry Arena members do not see these ads
Hi Netizens
I have three questions about tattoos
1) Which layer of the skin is the ink deposited into?
2) If it is critical to deposit into a particular layer of skin, do tattoo artists adjust the depth of their needling to make sure it goes in correctly?
3) If it's too shallowly deposited, does it grow out with HK

hazel

Tattoo ink is injected into the dermal layer of the skin. The ink is able to remain visible over long periods of time with only slight dispersion and some colour fading.

Most parts of the body will give easy access to the dermis but some parts like less so than others and it is possible to loose quality of the tattoo due to leakage. A trained tattooist will advise.

Once you find out let me know.

I am the once Cameron Kippen. jobless, friendless and senile . Just been to the garage, filled up with peotrol only to find (parked next to two squad cars) I forgot to lift my wallet before I came out. Talk about hooning, sure brings the life back to the old parts, tho'.

toeslayer is my tag, as seen on a wall near you.

BTW Admin , are you in China at the Footwear biomechanics conference? If so give my regards to Prof Bob Ashford and Ned.

PS I have several tattoos and got my first aged forty. Believe it or not I was genuinely wanting to find out what precautions skin artists took (at the time) as there was no infection control outlines for registered chiropodists in UK. I ended up writing a handbook for practitioners which happened to be coincide with the Society releasing their infection control guidelines.

Last edited by Admin : 4th July 2007 at 11:05 PM. Reason: added link to conference

Good stuff Craig

Believe it or not Ned wanted moi for the dinner but he was over ruled. Pity cause I would loved to have been at the conference. Maybe someday. I think it is in South Africa next?

Love to wife and girls
