I think they have it the wrong way around, removing the title surgeon will increase confusion.
Patient "So are you the surgeon operating on me today"
Pod " Yes Miss I am, however I am not a surgeon"
Patient " WHAT!!!"

Quoting the medical spokesperson ".... saying the college believed no one should be able to use the title ''surgeon'' until they had completed a medical or dental degree and gained thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology and pharmacology."
If Dental then why not Podiatry???????? Mind you, yes, I don't think either dentists or chiropractors or podiatrists should refer to themselves as doctors.

I may be a UK podiatrist, but what a well said reply to all the rubbish about the degree in podiatric medicine not being a proper medical degree ! Well said paul, bravo
