Default Topic Review!

Hi Admin.,

Thank you for a really useful and interesting Posting. More of the same please!!!

This fits in nicely with a section on Verrucous Carcinoma in
'Cutaneous Disorders of the Lower Extremity' Dockery G.L. & Crawford M.E.C. 1997 1st.Ed. W.B.Saunders, Philadelphia. (ISBN 0-7216-5034-1). (There maybe a 2nd. Ed. by now???). Verrucous Carcinoma P.224.

I was going to type my own small contribution here but on a second reading it could well be infringing the Copyright?

Sufficient to say by observation,

1. There is a danger in Plantar Warts turning malignant, (Through lengthy and deep cutting treatments), hopefully rarely in Practice!
2. The white plaque like coating is a danger sign, (A dead giveaway!).
3. A wart that appears to be going deep through the three skin layers and has a well defined keratinocytes with small nuclei should be viewed with deep suspicion.

It should be treated with care and I personally would refer it to the patients G.P. automatically!!!

Regards,

Colin.
