Suburban Chicago News are reporting: East Dundee podiatrist charged in sex tapes investigation
Quote:
An Algonquin podiatrist has been arrested after a report by a female employee led police to the discovery of a hideen video camera and a cache of videotapes and DVDs depicting images of sexual conduct between the doctor and adult females in an examination room of his East Dundee office, police said.
Dr. Steven P. Loheide, 63, of 1002 Twisted Oak, Algonquin, is charged with two counts of eavesdropping, a Class 4 felony, and misdemeanor charges of unauthorized video recording, unlawful solicitation of a sex act, and battery. Authorities said Loheide was arrested at his office Wednesday, Oct. 17. Bail was set Friday at $100,000, and Loheide later was released from the Kane County Jail after posting bond of 10 percent.
The Kane County State's Attorney's Office, in a release issued Monday, said East Dundee police were dispatched on the afternoon of Oct. 16 to Loheide's office, Fox Valley Podiatry, 210 Penny Ave., Unit I, on a report of possible unlawful videotaping in one of the rooms of the office. There, an adult female employee told officers that she had discovered a videotape of her in the act of dressing and undressing in an examination room in the office used for that purpose. She reported to the officers that she had been unaware of the videotaping, when it occurred, and had after finding and viewing the tape, found a camera that had been hidden in the room. Loheide was not present at the time of the report.
On Wednesday, authorities executed a search warrant at Loheide's office, where officers found a hidden video camera and numerous video tapes and DVDs depicting images of sexual conduct between Loheide and female adults in the examination room, the state's attorney's office said. Loheide was taken into custody at the East Dundee Police Department, based on the investigation of the allegations and additional allegations by the employee that Loheide previously had touched her unlawfully and solicited her for a sexual act....

Police also said they have seized videotapes and DVDs showing Loheide having sex with at least five other women in that same room.
"We found numerous images of other women involved in various forms of sexual conduct with the doctor," East Dundee Police Chief Terry Mee said.

The Northwest Herald are reporting: Records seized from podiatrist’s office

Police have seized medical records from the podiatry office of Steven P. Loheide in an effort to help identify the women the doctor allegedly secretly taped having sex with him, police said.
East Dundee Police Chief Terry Mee said officials had not identified any of the women featured in the numerous video cassettes and DVDs that they removed from the office Friday. Loheide allegedly used a hidden camera and homemade closed-circuit TV system to tape himself having sex with the women in what police say could be a sex-for-drugs situation.
Loheide, 63, of 1002 Twisted Oak, Algonquin, was charged last week with two felony counts of eavesdropping and misdemeanor charges of unauthorized video recording, unlawful solicitation of a sex act, and battery, police said.
Those charges all stem from a complaint made by a female employee at Fox Valley Podiatry. She called East Dundee police to the office Oct. 16 after she found a videotape that showed her undressing in a changing room, and, later, the hidden camera. That employee told police that Loheide had touched her inappropriately and tried to get her to have sex with him.
No charges have been filed in regard to the numerous other women Loheide taped having sex with him, police said. Kane County Assistant State’s Attorney Greg Sams said he could not comment on whether more charges would come.
“It’s still an ongoing investigation,” Sams said.
In March 2006, Loheide surrendered his prescription-writing privileges after an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration. DEA Public Information Officer Joanna Zoltag said Loheide did not keep records of medications coming in and out of his office over a two-year period.
Police want anyone with information about Loheide and the charges to call detective Michael Seyller at the East Dundee Police Department at 847-428-4034.
Loheide’s next court date is scheduled for Nov. 1 in Kane County Court.
The Northwest Herald are reporting: Podiatrist faces more sex charges

A 63-year-old Algonquin podiatrist charged with using a spy camera to record himself having sex with women in exchange for drugs is in Kane County Jail in lieu of $50 million bail on 95 new felony charges.
Steven P. Loheide, of 1002 Twisted Oak, was arrested Monday night at his home on drug and eavesdropping charges.
Kane County prosecutors allege that Loheide exchanged prescription drugs for sex 25 times between March 1, 2005 and Sept. 30, 2007. Authorities also allege that during that time, Loheide videotaped himself 29 times having sex with patients in his East Dundee office without the patients’ consent.

An East Dundee podiatrist will go to prison and never practice medicine again in a sex-for-drugs case that a judge called “an enormous betrayal.”
Steven Loheide, 64, of Algonquin agreed Wednesday to a six-year prison sentence and two years of probation after pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance and eavesdropping charges.
Prosecutors say he offered prescription medications to patients in exchange for sex and secretly videotaped the acts.
Chief Judge Don Hudson approved the negotiated plea agreement after verifying that the victims – two female patients – approved.
“We take these allegations very seriously,” Hudson said, calling them “an enormous betrayal” to the patients and to the public.
Assistant State’s Attorney Greg Sams described the claims against Loheide who listened quietly.
Last October, a female employee at Fox Valley Podiatry – Loheide’s practice – went to police after finding a videotape showing her undressing, Sams said.
A police search revealed a video camera hidden with towels in the office, along with videotapes of women performing sex acts, he said.
The investigation that followed led to charges that Loheide provided Vicodin to patients in exchange for sex acts that he secretly taped.
