FLINT - A local podiatrist's medical license has been suspended by the Michigan Department of Community Health for failing to report a health care fraud conviction involving more than $600,000 in Oakland County.
Dr. Jeffery S. Cooke's license was suspended immediately on March 23, said a news release issued late Tuesday by the department.
Cooke said Tuesday he thinks the news release was in error and that he has time to respond to the action before his medical license is suspended, but the department confirmed Wednesday that his license is suspended.
