Dear Poster
Up until September 2009, Graduate from Australia and NZ were eligible for recongnition of registration by the HPC as the degree syllabus was transferable.
The HPC via the priovy council has since that time changesd it requirements, which menas that while your degree is considered of equal academic value, and that you also hold an LA licence, you do not hold a POMs (prescription only medicines) licence / certficate. The POMs certificate has been an integral part of the UK degree progrmamme now for almost a decade and the HPC wished to ensure that forgein nationals had a the same level of basic registration entitlemtns as UK graduates. As a result you would not currently be eligibel for UK registartion.
However...
Do not panic! you can obtain a POMs certificate by sitting a post garduate course which when obtained would allow you to seek HPC registartion.
The courses are run by a number of institutions and these are lsited on the HPC website
http://www.hpc-uk.org/aboutregistrat...ndprescribing/
please note you need the POM course NOT supplementary prescribing.
currently courses are run by podiatry schools at university of brighton, university of slaford and Queen Margaret University Edinburgh.
You could also contact the Society of Podiatrists and speak with the education officer and explain your situation, they may well able to assit you in finding a course.

I hope this is useful to you and best of luck
