Several years ago, I had a patient who was in high school whom I treated. HE was so happy with what I had done for him, he decided to persue Podiatry as a profession as well. You are smart enough to have researched your decision well, or so it appears.
Be advised that the profession, and medicine in general is no bed of roses. It takes hard work and dedication to obtain what you want in any profession.
If you are certain this is what you want to do, then acceptance to a good undergraduate program is your best step. Enroll in a premedical program and major which is acceptable to medical schools in general. You may find that it is not for you. If you decide that it is, then continue with your studies, and shadowing of your "mentor" in your off time. That way you will really know what you want. I also encourage you to shadow other doctors of various specialties just to be sure, as I did.
