I have just been offered a place at Northampton, starting this academic year...whhhhoooo. I am so excited.

I wanted to connect with some peri and post students to find out about the course. Reading lists etc..how I can prepare for the course over the summer months.

    Hi Sarah

I'm just coming to the end of year 1 at N'pton and am loving it.

All I can suggest as preparation is to start learning the bones of the leg and foot, also learn the lumps and bumps on these bones as they all serve a purpose. I would also try to start learning some muscles, you'll be amazed at just how many there are. When you start the course you'll learn all of this at quite a fast pace and I just wish I'd have tried to at least learn a little before I began.

A good way of doing it is by learning the leg a compartment at a time (ie, posterior thigh etc.)

The year flies and before you know it your in the mist of exams.

Best of luck, enjoy and feel free to contact me if you require any further info.

As the above have said it's all anatomy (well not quite but it'll give you a massive head start). Tom

Make the most of your trips to Leicester university medical school for lower limb dissection in your first term, it's one of the best things on the course. Prior knowledge of anatomy will clearly stand you in good stead.
