FIRST IMPRESSIONS - When first landing on this site, the visitor sees links in the form of what looks like a news site. The colors are earthy or mid tone. At first, it’s not easy to notice that this site is a forum. This can be positive because the visitor is able to focus on previous topics in forms of links to click on and go to that particular forum.
SITE PURPOSE - The purpose of Podiatry-Arena.com is for health care professionals to discuss topics amongst themselves regarding podiatry. The author clearly states that this is NOT a site for anyone to post personal problems and seek solutions for their own foot issues. A different site is offered for those who are seeking this type of help. However, everyone is encouraged to sign up and participate in the discussions.
The discussion boards are alive with posts. The forum has over 5,000 members and it’s clear that Podiatry-Arena is a well liked site, judging from the amount of backlinks (over 6,000 in Google alone) that they have coming to their site. It seems that it’s hard to get Google to recognize the efforts of backlinks for sites, but research is showing that Podiatry-Arena is liked by the search engines including Google.
