Default Query about babygros / gro suits

I was just wondering what peoples opinions are on babygros / or gro suits (same thing).

I remember at uni being told they were bad as the feet can get pulled and cause digital deformities, and this makes sense. I was just wondering what peoples opinions are for newborns?

Life starts getting complicated.

Having just gone through this with the Arena'ettes, I can't see it necessarily being a problem. It really obvious if they do not fit properly, so parents should be able to tell.

Exactly what digital defomities were you taught that are associated with these babygros/ sleepers?

I have personal experience with this. I kept my daughter in a grosuit that was, with hindsight, too small for her. She developed involuted nails of both 5th toes. I made a mistake.

She is now 4yo and, while the involuted nails remain, there is no real problem at the moment.

Just really about retracted digits and convoluted nails.
Even though kids have soft nails that generally correct themselves, I have seen a few babies in the clinic with proper involution of their nails, and these are usually ones that wear gro suits alot, or have the bed sheets tucked tightly around them.

I was just wondering if anyone else had found this or anything. A little research for the future :)
